I highly recommend ‘lunch and learns’! They are great opportunities to communicate important info in a fun and stress free environment to a wide number of people.
Tips ahead (you guys know me by now):
Tip – Provide ample pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salad, snacks, coffee, tea, soft drinks… They will love you for it. Been there, done that!
Tip – Invite speakers from the Police, Fire, Emergency Management and Red Cross.
Tip – In addition to business related information include interesting sessions and visual displays that will help employees develop personal response plans. For example, ‘Why You Need a Plan for Your Pets’, ‘Why You Need an Emergency Kit at Home’.
People will appreciate it. It is the right thing to do and remember, if your employees have issues at home during a disruptive event they may not be able to come to work.
Tip – Distribute brochures and value-laden pamphlets they can take with them.
Tip – Distribute simple to use action-item checklists.
Tip – Distribute your business cards and newsletters.
Tip – Run a raffle or contest. Give out some cool prizes. If your budget is tight give out t-shirts, hats or Amazon eGift cards.
Tip – Distribute a circular magnet or coffee cup coaster divided in eight interlocking colorful slices. Print each slice with a piece of awareness you want to communicate.
